Restaurants in Portsmouth are appealing for schools to take part in their new Chef School programme to teach children the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.

The initiative, run by Toby Carvery, offers free educational sessions and meals for children aged between six and 10.

Iain Clegg, general manager at Toby Carvery Hilsea said: ‘We’re really excited to launch the Chef School this year as we have worked hard on making sure the lesson fits the KS1 and KS2 curriculum’s focus on healthy eating.

‘Our visits are a great way to teach children about fresh fruit and vegetables and healthy eating in a unique behind-the-scenes experience.’
