THE NEXT generation of rock and rollers are in training at a school in Havant.

Pupils from Bidbury Junior School, in Fraser Road, have been making the most of their new electronic music suite by learning rock songs by some of the world’s greatest bands.

The 20 strong Rock Band performed some of their favourite numbers to delighted friends and family last week.

The audience went wild for the pupils’ take on top tracks by multi-million selling bands U2 and The Killers. The year three to six pupils have been learning to play electric guitars, bass guitars and drums.

Headteacher Julie Wood is delighted with the music curriculum.

She said: ‘We have worked hard to provide further opportunities for children to take part in music beyond our everyday curriculum. Music is a very strong part of our school and popular with the children. We are always looking for ways to expand our music provision.’
