THEY couldn’t look smarter or more eager to learn.

Pupils at Purbrook Park School have been praised for a superb start to the school term – including their immaculate uniforms.

Paul Foxley, headteacher of the school in Park Avenue, said: ‘I would like to thank all staff, parents and pupils for the fantastic start to the new school year.

‘We have all been very impressed with pupils’ outstanding uniform and positive attitudes to learning.

‘Several highly-qualified staff have joined our school this term, and the quality of teaching is now high.

‘Pupils are well-prepared to achieve the highest examination results, with a real focus on excellent results in English and maths.’

Meanwhile, the school is in the process of appointing an architect to design its new £5m sports, performing arts and science facilities.

Mr Foxley added: ‘Purbrook Park will provide an outstanding learning environment for the young people of Purbrook for years to come.’
