THEY danced their socks off to a delighted audience at this year’s Rock Challenge heats.

Students from schools and colleges across the area took part in the event which originated in Portsmouth around 20 years ago.

Children were tasked with dressing up and taking part in a production on stage at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Run by the Be Your Best Foundation, Rock Challenge encourages young people to lead healthy lifestyles and to be their best without the need for tobacco, alcohol or other drugs.

Many local schools made it through to the southern finals, which will take place back at Portsmouth Guildhall in June.
