BARE playgrounds and a school field have undergone a major transformation to become an outdoor learning area.
Pupils are using the revamped space at St John’s Church of England Primary School, in Whichers Gate Road, Rowlands Castle.
The new area includes a stage, seating, a raised allotment, raised flower beds and a bamboo garden that includes a worship circle. There is also a woodland walk featuring a story tree and dens.
Councillor Peter Edgar, who is in charge of education at Hampshire County Council, and Cllr Liz Fairhurst, who is in charge of health and well-being, were showed round.
Cllr Edgar said: ‘This is an amazing facility and I am sure a welcome and popular improvement at the school.’
Headteacher Kay Pennicotte-Henrie said: ‘It is wonderful to see what began as an idea for an outdoor learning space three years ago come to life.’
