Rugby star encourages people to get active

ACTIVE Charlotte Oliver is encouraging more people to get active following her own success as a rugby player.

Charlotte Oliver, 15, who attends Churcher’s College, in Petersfield, has played the sport at county level for three years.

Previously, she was part of a girls’ rugby team that met at Peterfield Rugby Football Club.

Last season she also took part in sessions held by the London Irish Academy to develop her skills further.

While taking part in the sessions Charlotte and her fellow players had the chance to be trained by the captain of the England women’s team and an ambassador for England Rugby in 2015, Margaret Alphonsi.

Charlotte said: ‘Even if sport doesn’t seem your thing, give it a try, you don’t know who you might meet or where it may lead you. Learning to play a sport and play it well could completely change kids’ views of how they want to grow up, so why not encourage your children to play rugby or anther sport, you never know-there may be a hidden talent!’
