FURTHER tests are being taken on soil that was found to be contaminated at a school.

As reported, Mayfield School in North End, Portsmouth, was last week forced to shut its playing fields after soil was found to be contaminated.

Headteacher David Jeapes has reassured parents, pupils and local residents that the site poses no immediate health risk and that the field has been shut as a precautionary measure.

The fields will remain closed.
