YOUNGSTERS can learn how to be rock stars in a new state-of-the-art recording studio at their school.
The fully-equipped recording studio was opened at The Waterloo School, in Warfield Avenue, Waterlooville, on Friday.
It was officially opened by the mayor of Havant, Councillor Ken Smith.
Cllr Smith said: ‘I thought it was an absolutely brilliant thing for these youngsters to have in their school.
‘It means they will be able to learn how to play instruments and how to use a professional recording studio.
‘They invited me to try it for myself and I enjoyed playing the drums.
‘Someone there said I had a natural rhythm but I’m not so sure about that.
‘I enjoyed being shown around the school very much. The discipline and the care and the learning there is absolutely brilliant.’
The studio is kitted out with keyboards, guitars and a drum kit.
Youngsters can then use the recording equipment to turn their songs into instant hits.
The school intends to invite other schools in the area to make use of the facilities.
