SCHOOLS across the region have pledged to reduce waste as part of a ‘lunchtime crunchtime’ initiative.

Youngsters are gearing up for EDF’s first national Waste Week for schools from March 12 that will involve completing a range of activities to cut food waste and packaging.

Schools that have signed up are Uplands and Harrison primaries in Fareham, Peel Common, Brockhurst and Alverstoke CoE Juniors, Leesland CoE Infants, Bay House and Bridgemary schools in Gosport, Front Lawn, Riders and Purbrook Juniors in Havant and Padnell Infants, Hulbert and Denmead Juniors in Waterlooville.
