STUDENTS from South Downs College have painted the seafront at Southsea on the walls of a local school.

Court Lane Junior School now has a newly decorated pastoral room.

Sue Wait, pastoral manager at the school in Cosham, said: ‘We have been fortunate to have some students from South Downs College paint a wonderful scene of the sea front at Southsea including the promenade, pier, beach huts and the Spinnaker Tower on the walls of our Pastoral Room.

‘Their work was all voluntary.

‘It has created a calm and interesting area to work in.

‘The pupils are really impressed and
there is a competition to name the new room.’

Staff and pupils at the school presented the students with a token gift voucher to thank them for their efforts.
