Senior officials from the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security have been learning about police and military leadership training through a course run by the University of Chichester.

The group of 20 trainees including two major-generals, one senior lieutenant colonel, one commander, 15 colonels and one captain completed the course which involved visits to Sandhurst, police colleges, Gatwick airport and Chichester police station.

Steve Corcoran, director of the course designed for senior government officials on the international scene, said: ‘We were delighted to welcome these senior officials from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

‘Many of the issues dealt with in the course were brought into sharp focus during their visit following the outbreak of the rioting in London and other cities in the country.’

The university, which prides itself on its international reach, has recently been chosen by the British Council to train an elite group of English Language Teachers from across China.
