Series of car boot sales fund school trip to Africa
PEOPLE are invited to take part in a series of car boot sales to help fund a group of Paulsgrove students’ trip to a deprived village in Africa.
The team of 10 14- and 15-year-olds boys and girls from King Richard School are trying to raise £890 each to fly out to Kenya in October to help disadvantaged children in orphanages.
Car boot sales will take place every Sunday from now until the beginning of October at the school’s sports fields in Allaway Avenue.
John Fullick, extended schools manager, said: ‘This trip means so much to them.
‘It will be a life-changing experience for them and they need all the funding they can get.
‘They have all been working so hard fundraising and we hope the car boot sales will help.
‘They will all be around for the car boot sales stewarding so it would be great to see as many people there as possible.’
A place at the car boot sale from 8am until midday each Sunday costs £5.
To make an advance booking for £4 call the school on 023 9237 0321.
Otherwise, entry is free.
