A PROGRAMME of fun activities promoting a love of cycling is under way.

Pedallers can get involved in cycle skills, organised rides and bike maintenance sessions.

The ‘Family Bike Club’ scheme, which started at Craneswater School, Southsea, at the start of the month, takes place every Tuesday until November 5.

It is run by a qualified cycling instructor and pupils will be awarded badges and cycling packs for taking part.

The sessions, being run by Portsmouth City Council, are open to all primary school-age children in the Southsea area and their families.

Cllr Jason Fazackarley said: ‘Cycling is a great activity for families to do together.’
