A YOUNG engineer so impressed his Honda bosses on work experience that they went into his school to present two of their superbikes in assembly.

Billy Streets, 15, was the pride of Brune Park Community College, when representatives from the motor company came in with the high-speed Honda Firebrand and brand new Crossrunner.

Billy, who arranged a week-long placement at the company’s headquarters in Slough through a family friend and Honda employee John Hensman, said: ‘I had the best time at Honda where I spent a week assembling a superbike from scratch for the Selfridges window display.

‘I’m so pleased I did a good job and it’s been a great honour to have Honda visit my school.’

Mr Hensman, who also runs a technical workshop in Gosport for superbikes, was so impressed he rewarded Billy with a moped.

He said: ‘Billy has a real talent for it and will go far in this industry.

‘He has the potential to progress to senior technician and in a year or two work as a race technician. He has the world in front of him.’
