WHOOPS and cheers came from the Mountbatten Centre yesterday as youngsters from 31 schools took part in the Havant School Games.
More than 1,300 primary school pupils participated in all sorts of sports including track and field, hockey, golf, curling and boccia, which is played in a wheelchair.
The School Games have been organised by Havant Rotary and are running all week in venues across the area.
Peter Poulton, from Rotary, said: ‘The atmosphere was brilliant. It’s so exciting.
‘There are around 35 difference sports for everyone to take part in. I’d like to thank Lee Tindall from Oaklands School who is in charge of the sports. He’s done a great job.’
