Staff in education to be praised at city service

A service is set to take place in Portsmouth to thank staff at educational establishments across the area for the work that they do.

City Life Church in Tangier Road is hosting the event, called Education Sunday, on Sunday, January 27.

Teachers, support staff and governors from schools, colleges and the University of Portsmouth are being invited.

Dan Harman, pastor at the church, said: ‘Often teaching can be seen as a thankless task but the reality is that the hard work, love and care that teachers pour into the community makes a phenomenal difference.

‘Schools, colleges and universities play a key role in investing in the children, young people and families in our city, helping to lay a solid foundation from which to build.

‘This is for all staff, governors and those supporting behind the scenes.’
