PORTSMOUTH University staff and students from the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation are holding one of the biggest stargazing events in the country.

The event takes place at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard on Thursday, January 10 between 4pm and 9pm.

The team will be talking to the public with free lectures and there will be stargazing with experts.

It is a major collaboration between BBC Stargazing LIVE 2013, the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation at the University of Portsmouth, HMS Warrior, the Mary Rose Trust education teams, the Hampshire Astronomical Group, Physics Ambassadors from Portsmouth Grammar School and the Hampshire Branch of the British Science Association.

The event is free but tickets must be booked through eventbrite.co.uk.
