STRAWBERRIES and cream were the flavour of the day at two children’s centres celebrating outstanding Ofsted reports.

Staff and families at Oak Meadow and Strawberry Meadow Sure Start centres in Fareham enjoyed tasty fruits in the sun as they celebrated the double dose of good news.

Debbie Simmons, centre manager, said: ‘I’m particularly pleased that Ofsted recognised the very strong ethos of the centres as being the family around the family and a nurturing and enabling environment where families feel highly valued.’

Oak Meadow and Strawberry Meadow will merge with other centres as part of Hampshire’s plans to make £6m savings from the Sure Start budget.
