A COMEDIAN has inspired four college students to spend their summer cycling across France for charity.

Joss Lee, Mikey Swinyard and Hattie Temperley, all 18 and students at South Downs College, will be cycling from Perpignan to Nice.

They will be joined by Bishop Luffa student Max May, also, 18, in the 300-mile journey to raise money for the children’s charity Barnados.

Mikey explained, ‘Hattie and I were planning our gap year and were thinking of ways to make it more of a challenge, and the idea came to us when watching John Bishop’s amazing work for Sport Relief.

‘It’s quite ambitious but we felt we ought to push ourselves for the cause.’

The cycle will take place in August and the group wants to raise £1,000.

They are also hoping that a local bicycle shop may be willing to donate the touring bikes that are required for the journey.

They intend to sell afterwards to raise more cash for Barnados.
