THE Chief Constable of Hampshire Constabulary met students at the University of Portsmouth.

Andy Marsh visited the university to meet students on criminology courses and to commend some of the partnerships between the university and Hampshire police.

Mr Marsh spent time with students from courses in criminology and forensic studies, biology and computing, who talked to him about their poster presentations and dissertations and discussed their career plans for the future.

He also attended a panel event of students and their Hampshire police staff mentors.

He said: ‘We have an excellent partnership with the University of Portsmouth which is unique in terms of forensic science.

‘We benefit from some excellent research and critical thinking from some outstanding students and they in turn secure exposure and experience to an employer which I hope gives them the edge to achieve their goals when entering the job market.’
