Students and staff at Portsmouth University were advised to take care walking to work today.
University issued the advice as they confirmed that the university was open despite the icy weather.
During the height of the snowfalls, students enjoyed a mass snowball fight at the university.
More than 100 took battled in a huge snowball fight in the beer garden of the students’ union in Cambridge Road.
Grant Clarke, 23, vice president activities at the SU, said: ‘It was really good fun and we were giving out free hot chocolate to everyone because it was very cold.
‘A few union staff members couldn’t make it to Portsmouth today but most have been here helping students have a bit of fun.
‘I got a snowball to my ear – that was nice and cold.’
