Students find out how to make dreams a reality
HUNDREDS of young people from across the area will descend on Havant College for a careers fair.
Whether they dream of being an engineer or a fashion designer, there will be something for everyone at the Havant Federation Careers Fair, which is now in its third year.
Last year more than 1,200 students attended from schools across Havant and Waterlooville, including Cowplain Community School, Hayling College, Park Community School, Purbrook Park School, Havant Academy, Oaklands Catholic School and Sixth Form College, Horndean Technology College, Prospect School and Warblington School.
Teenagers will be able to explore and discuss all possible future routes, from apprenticeships to A-levels.
They will also have the opportunity to take part in practical activities.
Fareham College will be displaying a motorbike demo engine for any prospective mechanics or engineers to explore and Havant College will be conducting forensic activities in its new science labs.
Chichester College will be demonstrating furniture making and South Downs College will be showcasing art and design activities.
A range of local companies will be present on the day.
The event takes place on Monday, February 20 from 9am to 3pm.
Mandy Bensley, careers co-ordinator at Warblington School and event organiser, said: ‘I am so happy with the response we have received from exhibitors wanting to take part this year. This is fantastic opportunity for young people to explore many different careers and courses.’
