A TEAM of volunteers from insurer Zurich have transformed a community youth centre.

The centre at Brune Park Community School in Gosport had a major makeover.

Nearly 80 people from the insurer’s general insurance marketing team, based in Whiteley, gave the centre a revamp as part of Zurich’s 2014 programme of challenges, designed to make a difference in the community.

Jobs included painting and renovating the meeting areas and kitchen, refurbishing the furniture and installing a new sound system.

Kay Martin, chief marketing officer at Zurich UK said: ‘The team pulled together to raise over £6,000 to fund this project.

‘We were delighted to be able to play our part in helping to transform the youth centre at Brune Park Community School.’

Headteacher Richard Kelly said: ‘Zurich’s volunteers have made a real difference to our school, giving our youth centre a much needed make-over that otherwise might not have happened.’
