YOUNG cheerleaders were jumping higher than ever before when they discovered they had come fourth in a national competition.

The talented team from Priory School in Southsea won the prestigious accolade at the British Cheerleading Association’s national schools competition.

Leah Parker, 14, said: ‘This is the best day of my life.’

Megan Wade, 12, added: ‘It was such an amazing experience and I will definitely do it again next year.’

Their coach Natalie Dunn said she was proud of the young girls who performed brilliantly at the grand finale in Telford, Shropshire.

She said: ‘When the moment came to demonstrate our well rehesarsed performance on the big stage our girls put in a brilliant performance.’
