THE Prince’s Trust is giving unemployed young people in Portsmouth help to find a job.

More than 75 per cent of young people go straight into employment, education or training after completing the Prince’s Trust Team Programme, which runs at Highbury College.

During the 12-week course young people get involved in team-building activities, a week-long residential trip and a community project as well as two weeks of work experience.

They also get advice on how to write CVs and prepare for interviews while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

Amy Cartwright is the Prince’s Trust team leader at Highbury College.

She said: ‘I have seen the real impact that the Team Programme has made on young people.

‘The programme provides them with a huge confidence boost and greatly improves their chances of gaining employment, education or training.’
