A DAY nursery where children ‘freely express themselves creatively’ has been rated as good by Ofsted.

Privately-owned Turtles Day Nursery, at Portsmouth Rugby Club in Hilsea, received the second-best grade following an inspection in late January.

Turtles, which has 40 children on its roll, was praised for its close attention to the welfare of every child and provision in an atmosphere of fun and excitement.

Inspector Michele Beasley said: ‘Children play and explore within safe, stimulating boundaries.’
