A BAND have made it through to the finals of a national music competition.

T*U*A are studying at the University of Portsmouth and will feature in the finals of the Uni Music League after battling against hundreds of other bands from around the UK.

If T*U*A win, they will earn an EP recording deal with Metropolis Studios, the opportunity to perform at the Wilderness Festival, support slots at KOKO in London, a full PR campaign and professional photography shoots.

T*U*A have been making music for eight years and the group has created a unique sound inspired by jazz, soul, hip-hop and rock.

From skipping science for music, to the days of bedroom beats at university, Manny Alder, writer and performer, and Theo Harvey, writer, producer and performer, have strived to keep the sound distinct.

T*U*A will appear at the O2 Academy, Islington, on May 9 for the final show.
