MORE than 60 former students of the University of Portsmouth who now live and work in Hong Kong celebrated the launch of their own branch of the university’s alumni association.

The celebratory event, which was launched by the Portsmouth-born deputy director of the British Council Kevin Mclaven, was also attended by staff from the university’s international office.

Peggy Leung, of the new alumni chapter, said: ‘Most alumni attending the event were hoping to meet up with others from the University of Portsmouth – it’s as if they were meeting up with members of the same family.’
