SPORTS students put on a stunning 20-minute vaulting display for their teachers and classmates as part of their college studies.

The display, performed by BTEC pupils at St Vincent College in Gosport, was intended to give students a challenge.

The gymnastic display marked the final session of their Individual Practical Sport BTEC unit.

The students’ course teacher, Phil Love, is an experienced gymnast.

He said: ‘We do badminton, which is pretty easy, but vaulting is something very few students have ever done so it gets them out of their comfort zone.

‘The students who performed have only been doing this for 10 weeks, but it is amazing the progress they have made and also the team bond it has created.

‘This unit is an excellent preparation for university, as we have many students who come back to the college and say how useful it was for their higher studies.’
