A STUDENT from Portsmouth High School has won first prize in a writing competition.

Chloe Lam, 13, won the prize in the Reading Activist short story competition which was organised by the Beddow Library, Milton. The theme of the competition was ‘New Beginnings’.

She said: ‘I am so pleased to have won. I would love to be a writer when I am older.’
