THERE is still time to pick up tickets to see one of world’s greatest children’s authors.

Michael Morpurgo, the author of the book War Horse, which went on to become a cinema and stage blockbuster, is visiting Portsmouth on Saturday night.

He will give a talk at Portsmouth Guildhall to fans of his books – both young and old.

The event with the internationally-acclaimed writer of Private Peaceful, The Butterfly Lion and Why the Whales Came is a curtain-raiser for Portsmouth Book Fest which begins next month.

Mr Morpurgo will be talking about his latest novel for children, A Medal for Leroy and his new picture book Pinocchio.

He will meet audience members individually after the talk and any books bought will contain a signed book plate.

Tickets are available by calling (023) 9282 4355 or from portsmouthguildhall.org.uk/events/michael-morpurgo.
