A SCHOOL for children with special educational needs was set to be shut today due to staff sickness.

It is understood that the Waterloo School in Warfield Avenue, Waterlooville is suffering staff shortages due to an outbreak of sickness and diarrhoea.

A statement on the school’s website last night read: ‘Unfortunately, due to staff sickness The Waterloo School is unable to open on Friday 5 December 2014.

‘We apologise for any inconvenience caused.’

It is not known whether any pupils have been taken ill.
