YOUNGSTERS at Flying Bull Primary School in Buckland, Portsmouth received a visit from author Jeanne Willis.

The writer of well loved children’s book Who’s in the Loo? read stories to the children, showed them some of her manuscripts and told them about how she became an author.

Pupils from other schools, including Arundel Court, Solent, Langstone, Isambard Brunel, Copnor, Paulsgrove, Milton Park and Victory, were also at the event organised by the School Library Service.

Karen Churchill, the school’s librarian, said: ‘The children all had a lovely time. They listened and asked questions and when I asked them afterwards if they enjoyed it, they all said they loved it.

‘Even the ones who were soaked by the rain said they had a great time.’

Inspired by the visit, Mrs Churchill added: ‘I’m thinking about getting them to write their own story now and illustrate it and I will put them up on the wall in the library.’
