IT’S the final countdown for budding Gosport entrepreneurs who have one last week of sales to raise as much money as possible for charity.

As previously reported, the bright young company directors from Newtown CoE Primary have been flogging creative items and services from car washes to accessorised socks – with the help of a £5 loan from teacher Jenny Wedick.

Their initial target was £1,000 for African charities Breakfast Club, Riziki Children’s Organisation and Trade Aid Tanzania, but now that amount looks set to double.

Mrs Wedick said: ‘The children are so enthusiastic.’

Pupils will be selling goods today and on May 9 from 3pm to 3.30pm.
