DANCERS, singers and musicians showed off their talents to the people of Portsmouth in the third night of a popular festival.
Pupils from schools across the city gathered together to take part in the Portsmouth Schools Music Festival which took place at the Guildhall.
Lucy Buchanan from Copnor Junior School performed Naughty from Matilda the musical.
The orchestra from Elson Junior School also performed, as well as the Mayfield Secondary School Band. Infant and Junior school choirs also took part together.
Sarah Lewis, who is on the Portsmouth Schools Music Festival committee and is a conductor, said: ‘The audience were really responsive.
‘We had lots of comments back about how the children really enjoyed it.
‘It’s a unique opportunity for a lot of them with the fact that they get to work with other schools, not just in their school groups.
‘They got to meet teachers they wouldn’t normally meet.
‘They enjoy the music – that’s the biggest thing. A lot of it is current music that they know.
‘They have heard it on the radio and they can relate to it.’
