JOYFUL youngsters took part in music, singing and dance activities to celebrate the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

Pupils from Goldsmith Infant School learnt English folk dances with the help of dance company Folk Active.

Headteacher Miss Allison Cox said: ‘All the children really enjoyed learning the dances they were performing around the school all day.’

The students were also given the opportunity to wear something that made them feel joyful.

‘We had ballerinas, superheroes, princesses and lots of bright clothes worn on the day,’ said Miss Cox.

In the evening Year 2 children sang with the Cantelena Youth Choir watched on by parents, friends and teachers.

Miss Cox said: ‘It was lovely to see all the children singing together.

‘The Cantelena choir had rehearsed some songs that they could sing with the pupils and then they sang by themselves.’
