A 79-year-old paraglider was left hurt after making a bad landing at a beauty spot.

The air ambulance flew to Old Winchester Hill, East Meon, near Petersfield, after the man got into difficulties at about 4.15pm yesterday.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital, suffering from a back injury.

An ambulance spokesman said: ‘He landed too fast and jarred his back.’
