IT WAS his first haircut, and it helped to raise more than £1,000.

As previously reported, three-year-old Elijah Edney, of Seymour Close, Buckland, had never had his locks cut. At 12in long, he had them cut over the weekend, at M Cutting in Kingston Road,Portsmouth.

His shorn-off locks will be going to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for poorly children.

His mum Amber hoped to raise £350, as that’s how much it costs to make a wig, but more than £1,000 has been raised.
