ONE of the most spectacular events of the year is taking place tonight.
Butser Ancient Farm’s Festival of Beltain will see a 30ft wicker man being burnt in the East Hampshire countryside.
The festival welcomes in the summer in the traditional pagan way.
As well as the burning at the end of the evening, there will be music from Feckless, The Day of the Rabblement and The Wide Eyes.
Families can enjoy watching craftspeople using traditional skills, take part in a drumming workshop, and enjoy birds of prey and wandering minstrels.
Refreshments include hog roast and a bar with locally produced ales.
