Fundraiser close to many hearts

PEOPLE are being encouraged to get fit this February and help save lives.

The spectacular landscape of the South Downs National Park is the setting for the South Downs Way Challenge, a fundraiser organised by the British Heart Foundation.

The event, on Saturday, February 25, will be based at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, near Clanfield, and offers participants the choice of three circular routes to walk, jog or run.

Event organiser Tacye Blest said: ‘The South Downs Way Challenge is a great day out whichever challenge you choose. All three routes leave from the Queen Elizabeth Country Park and take you across the beautiful countryside of Hampshire. Sadly every six minutes someone dies from a heart attack and nearly all of us know someone who has been affected by heart disease.’

Anyone interested can call 0808 100 2109, register online at bhf.org.uk/sdwchallenge or email eastevents@bhf.org.uk.
