Make your mark and plant a tree in Bedhampton
FAMILIES are being invited to plant trees to provide fruit, nuts and berries in the future.
The Havant Transition Network is an environmental group which aims to make a difference to the lives of the community through subtle changes.
Volunteers have been given trees by the Woodland Trust which will be planted in Hooks Row – a strip of land that runs along the side of Barncroft Junior School, in Bedhampton.
Mark Willenbruch, from HTN, said: ‘They are native fruiting trees which will one day provide us with fruits, nuts and berries.
‘We’re looking for residents, local children and anyone else to help plant and then look after them as they grow.’
Anyone interested in helping to plant the trees is invited to a meeting at Barncroft Junior School on February 3 at 6pm. For more details go to htn2020.org.uk.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 02:13 PMI used to walk past there (if I'm thinking of the right place) on my way to Trosnant School from Park Lane every day! (We moved just before the last year of school and I didn't want to leave my friends) I crossed that field in torrential rain with one of those bubble 'see through' umbrellas in my own little world! Lovely memories of just being a kid walking to school! Is there a date set for planting, can I buy a tree or have it planted for me? I have not been to there in over 25 years! - Please e-mail me, brigit67@sbcglobal.net Thank you!
