Everyone invited to library for talk about Battle of the Somme in library

HISTORIANS and members of the public are invited to a war talk to be held in a library.

Elson Library in Chantry Road, Gosport, will host local historian, battlefield guide and broadcaster Charles Haskell.

Mr Haskell will give his talk about the Battle of the Somme.

The talk will be illustrated by artefacts recovered from Flanders Fields .

It comes as interest grows approaching the war’s 100-year anniversary next year.

The free talk and question session will start tomorrow at 10am.

Places for the talk are limited so book early.

Call the library on (023) 9252 4608.
