The oyster industry was of huge importance to trade and commerce in Emsworth in the last century until its demise due an unfortunate incident of poisoning.

A series of panels and two films in the new Linda Newell Oyster gallery recalls the whole story.

The free exhibition, entitled Emsworth’s Oysters – The full story – runs from September 5-27. The Museum is open Saturdays 10.30am-4.30pm and Sundays 2.30pm-4.30 pm. A stairlift is available.
