Havant Symphony Orchestra will bring classical music to Hayling Island for its next live concert.

The evening of live music will be held at the community centre, in Station Road on September 19 at 7.30pm.

The classic concert will include renditions of Chopin’s piano concerto number two and ending the night with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony number five.

The evening will be presided over by University of Portsmouth’s director of music, Colin Jagger who has worked with the Havant Symphony Orchestra for several years.

The orchestra was formed in 1962 by Peter Craddock as a further education class to offer local amateur musicians an opportunity to study, rehearse and perform a wide range of orchestral music.

It is now an independent orchestra and is made up of a mix of professional and gifted amateur players, led by professional violinist, Cathy Mathews.

Tickets for the Hayling show are £12.
