UNEMPLOYED people in Leigh Park will benefit from a new job club.

The club has been started at the Leigh Park Learning Centre at Greywell shopping centre.

It will give people the chance to meet others looking for work, build new contacts, share job-hunting experiences and get advice on interview techniques, CVs and volunteering opportunities.

The club is the idea of Dave Doe, a careers adviser from South Downs College.

He said: ‘South Downs College is very keen to become more involved in local community matters and this club will help local unemployed people and therefore benefit the local area.

‘During every session, we will help people to look for work by swapping ideas and provide advice on where to look for vacancies, CVs, completing application forms and on how to prepare well for and survive a job interview.’

The club meets from midday to 2pm every Wednesday.
