AN ARRAY of events will be taking place in Portsmouth to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight.

Starting from this Monday, Portsmouth City Council will be hosting activities so people can learn more about Fairtrade, an organisation which aims to make trading conditions better for producers in poorer countries.

The theme for this year is Show Off Your Label, with the idea of explaining the Fairtrade mark.

Events taking place include a different Fairtrade stall every day during the fortnight at the Cascades Shopping Centre, Portsmouth.

A Fairtrade curry evening, which will have a cookery contest, is also taking place on Wednesday, March 2, from 7pm to 9.30pm at Portsmouth University, at The Hub, in Dennis Sciama Building, Burnaby Road.
