A FAMILY is holding a fun day to raise cash for a hospice after their young son died.

Elise and Alan Gower are holding the fundraising day at Monckton Playing Fields, off Fort Road, Gosport on Sunday.

The pair, of Prince Alfred Street, Gosport, lost their five-year-old son after he died from a brain tumour last year.

Joe’s classmates packed St Mary’s Church Alverstoke to bid farewell to their friend.

Since he passed away family and friends have been fundraising charities that helped Joe and his family.

Sunday’s event will raise cash for Naomi House.

The event will have a bouncy castle, soft play area, gladiator duel, pole joust, face painting, a police vehicle, refreshments, candy floss and ice cream.

It runs from 12pm to 4pm and cost £5 for the first child and £1 per sibling.
