A FIRE led to a Gosport house being evacuated.

The incident happened on Carisbroke Road, Gosport, at 10.40pm last night.

The occupiers had recently moved into the property and had stacked some cardboard boxes near to a light, which caught fire.

Two fire engines from Gosport fire station went to the detached house and firefighters put out the blaze by midnight.

A family of five were evacuated, nobody was injured.
