A CHURCH in Portsmouth has seen attendance rocket by 45 per cent.
St Jude’s Church, in Southsea, has seen its numbers grow since putting on a Funday Sunday event every two months.
Worshippers are given coffee and bacon sandwiches and get the chance to read newspapers. Children can also have their faces painted or their nails varnished.
Vicar Rev Mike Duff said: ‘This was part of the vision we had to open up what we do at St Jude’s to those who wouldn’t normally come.’
