FOOTBALL fans were left seething when most of the second half of England’s World Cup qualifier was lost due a power cut.

Almost 1,600 homes across Lee-on-the-Solent lost electricity just after 9pm tonight.

Angry fans took to Twitter. Tom Hams said: ‘Typical. The whole of Lee on Solent has a power cut half way through the England game.’

A spokesman for Southern Electric Power Distribution apologised and said it originated with a fault in the high-voltage network and engineers were on site working to fix the problem.
